STORY OVERVIEW

The burnt out star. Returning to school after her mysterious disappearance, Aki’s peers greatly worry about her mismatched attitude. Aki is a repeat student in their last year of high school for the third time. They’ve fallen back to old habits, but manage to push through, if only it weren’t fueled by destructive means.Previously sought after for their wits in art and feisty spirit, this dismissive and cold character is a far cry from the last time anyone’s seen them. Despite being a little reserved now, she’s just as empathetic and attuned with how others feel. But an expertise like that combined with an ability she’s only beginning to navigate, it’s carved into a damaged path she plans to walk through all the way to the end.During their disappearance, Aki developed a mysterious ability to see through people’s hearts. They hear the rebukes and judgment that people hide through their smiles. She quickly learns that her self-imposed title as a “mind reader” could be wrong. Why is it that everyone’s thoughts only target her? Why are they so conveniently in tune with what she’s dealing with at the moment? Whatever answer may come wouldn’t matter, because these voices have helped a great deal in getting back on track, even if it’s damaged her to no return.

THE ABILITY

Whenever Aki feels demotivated and her depressive / intrusive thoughts run wild, it is drawn out through other people / their surroundings. Only Aki and Eleanor are able to see this ability show up, and how it grows stronger throughout the story.ONE: Word of mouth (distinguishable) - the words people say are split (like literally) one side is what they’re really saying, the other is the loud rebukes that hit Aki’s heart in a way that can get her to do something. Aki has a difficult time trying to focus on the actual words someone is saying but is aware when the ability is activated. Artistically this can be distinguished by the difference in text boxes used.TWO: Expression and actions (distinguishable) - where along with the change in word of mouth, the body language conveyed changes too. Artistically this can be distinguished by the difference in color, with the body language manifested from the ability being a black blob with yellow lineart that may consume the figure of whoever Aki's talking to.THREE: Intrusive imagery (barely distinguishable) - shadowy figures and scenes shift around her, from who she’s talking to suddenly being stabbed, to imaginary fires suddenly spreading around the classroom.FOUR: A delirious combination (indistinguishable) - all three now lack its distinct trait that makes it so distinguishable from reality, making Aki spiral questioning what’s real and what’s not.

TRIVIA

Aki used to be a Danganronpa fan character, her talent is meant to be the Ultimate Animator, a play on words where they can animate art into reality. I kept the concept for their ability in their new story, where it manifests in a scribbled-esque style meant to look drawn over. It can also be seen from how she manifests her guilt into reality through this ability of hers.

STORY OVERVIEW

The class president. Eleanor is the daughter of the class’ homeroom teacher, Riizu Takayama. Nora holds a poised and cunning exterior, but once you have her attention, her playful and curious side comes to shine. Nora’s known for her unwavering commitment to her responsibilities, though simultaneously she maintains a friendship with those in her class. Her authority remains through her witty banter, which grants her titles such as “lenient”, “fun”, and her favorite - “mature”, only a few of many traits she’s decided to keep up no matter the circumstance. However, this goal quickly turns to her own detriment.Nora’s drive is to achieve, to excel at what she's known for, but keeping up appearances has drained her overtime. She fumbles from grasping for people’s praise to resenting the expectation of maintaining what’s praiseworthy. With her hidden turmoil comes calculated responses, contradicting thoughts, and disingenuous kindness. She hides it well on the surface, but all her efforts feed a monster within her, one holding bitter feelings and judgment towards every little moment in her day, whether that be towards others, or to herself.Nora deems herself as above the rest for being able to conceal these grudges, her swelling ego over what she thinks is “maturity” shows just how insecure she is below the surface. She fears the day that this monster would be known, which is where Aki’s ability comes to intrigue her, but really, it scares her.

Because of their past basis on being a Danganronpa OC, their half-hoodie-half-camisole outfit is indeed quite bizzare, so because of their change in story, they also have a version with a full hoodie that has both sides.
